Immigrant Has His Job Application Rejected In The Rudest Way Possible But His Daughter Made Them Pay

Some days I just can’t believe the incredible kindness you see on social media. A lot of the time there is just hate and bullying though and that’s really what we need to combat. People think they can say anything online and it won’t come back to haunt them.

You would also think that some who is titled as the HR manager would warrant some human resource qualities. Sadly, Minh Huynh was on the receiving end on some seriously racist crap.

All he was trying to do was get a job, like many of us in this country, so he could support his family. Minh applied to Dash Delivery, but I think he’s the one who got lucky at the end of all this. After applying, Bruce Peterson (I’m going to use his full name every time I mention him when people Google his name this will come up) had the audacity to respond with this email.

If you can’t read it, it says:

“Let me tell you now, if you no speak English, I will send you home”

Hey Bruce, maybe end your sentences with a period so we know when you’re done talking out your butt!

After Emily’s tweet it caught the viral fire it needed. At this moment there are 24,000 RTs and 50,000 favorites. Alright a little faith in humanity restored, and especially after hearing from Dash Delivery one more time. They followed up (to save face) and wrote Minh and Emily a note:

“Dear Mr. Huynh and Emily,

As the employer of Mr. [BRUCE] Peterson, please accept my sincere apologies for the communication sent by Mr. [BRUCE] Peterson to you. Mr. [BRUCE] Peterson’s communication was inappropriate and inconsistent with our company’s values. Our company is an equal opportunity employer and it is proud of it’s diverse workforce. Indeed, the majority of the employees performing the work for which you applied speak English as a second language and they represent a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. While it is true that communicating effectively in English is an important part of the job in question, the manner in which Mr. [BRUCE] Peterson communicated with you was highly inappropriate and following our investigation he is no longer employed with the company. Thank you gor bringing this to our attention and I hope you will accept my sincere apology.”

Emily’s amazing viral tweet ended a racist at his own game. Just think how many others he would have ridiculed if she hadn’t done so.

But the story doesn’t stop there! She tweeted an update with this picture!

“Check up: Even though we appreciate all the encouragement to make it a law suit, my dad has forgiven and wants to move on. He says he doesn’t want to be confrontational, what happened has happened. Btw this is my dads notebook he keeps near his laptop, he teaches himself daily :)”

No word on if he has gotten a job yet, but with all this viral support, he’s well on his way to it hopefully!
