Some of my friends that are vegetarians will definitely love this story, and it may inspire a few of you to go that route too. Me? Sorry cows of the world but a burger tastes too dang good.
This is a story that will go on to inspire millions though, because it shows an enslaved cow get true justice and not stop at anything to get it!

No, it’s not that beautiful cow, but a similar one near Lake Nysa in South Poland.
He/She must have been feeling the inevitable slaughterhouse situation they were in and like many cows before them, they hatched an escape plan.

The cow rammed through the metal fence and made a run for the nearby lake. Somehow it swam (I’ve literally never seen a swimming cow, so I fixed that with a quick Youtube search) to a nearby island in the middle of the lake.
After attempting to get the cow back, and failing, the owner Mr Lukasz decided to just make sure Mr./Ms. Cow stayed alive and had enough food on their island.

Pawel Gotowski, the deputy commander of the fire department in Nysa said that the cow is doing fine. They had tried to rescue them, but it just fled to another island.
Another Pawel, Pawel Kukiz, who is a politician and ex-singer wrote a Facebook post about the situation. He vowed to keep the hero cow safe and fed.
Translated it says:
“Yesterday, I posted an entry for a cow-hero who took off from transport to the slaughterhouse and has been moving around lake nyskiego for three weeks.
She fled heroically and swam to an island in the middle of the lake where she remains until today. She didn’t give up on firemen who wanted to transport her by boat, and she’s still on the battlefield. I believe that Mr. Luke-owner of the cow has been delivering food for the animal to the island for three weeks.”

He goes on to say:
“I’m not a vegetarian, but fortitude and the will to fight for this cow’s life is not to be of [sic]. Therefore, I decided to do everything to (first) cause the cow to be delivered to a safe place and in the second stage, in reward for her attitude, give her a guarantee of expectancy retirement and natural death.
Prior to the fact that, once the cow has been bought and sponsorship guarantees, it will not take place in opole. Unfortunately, despite the good will of the zoo, this option is not possible because the opole zoo belongs to the so-called. ” approved units ” among EU countries and can only be exchanged with other ” approved ” animals, but for example. He can’t take a stork that doesn’t fly to warm countries or lose money.”
Looks like Hero Cow won’t be going anywhere except hanging out on their island. Next thing you know they will have colonized it with other runaway cows. Then Planet of The Cows is going to happen. You heard it here first…
