Dog Makes Miraculous Recovery After Being Injected With Drug Cocktail By Children

If you can’t be nice to dogs and animals and general, you should probably just exit this article. It’s not for you. Now that we have all the dog supporters in the house, get the tissues for this feel good story because it’s amazing.

When people saw Suzi not moving on the street, they called animal control immediately. Since she laid right outside a known drug house, they were scared for whatever had happened to the dog.

After a drug test their suspicions were confirmed, there was cocaine and THC inside her.

Suzi went to Faithful Friends Animal Shelter where she was instantly hooked up to an IV to get fluids in her and hopefully flush the drugs out of her system. Kevin Rentz, the marketing manager at the shelter, spoke to The Dodo and said:

“When she first arrived, she was unable to walk, stand, eat or drink. Our vets had never seen a mistreatment dealing with narcotics like this. It was heartbreaking.”

She was kept in a cage to make sure she recovered swiftly and the staff made sure she was comfy. She was quite out of it, and was barely responsive.

Thankfully after just two days of constant care, Suzi was starting to show signs of recovery to the Faithful Friends Animal Shelter team. Rentz said:

“She stole the hearts of all the vets and techs here. Once the drugs had started leaving her system, you could see her personality perk up.”

After a few more days she recovered to full health and was running outside and playing with toys. The staff thought she had never even had toys and that’s why she was so excited.

Suzi went viral and appeared on a few news outlets due to her amazing recovery and story.

Now it was time for Suzi to find a forever home and Aida Alicea heard about Suzi because of her viral fame. She and her family went to the shelter to see if Suzi was still available. She told The Dodo as well:

“We were devastated to hear that someone, especially kids, would do something so cruel. When we saw her for the first time, she was laying in the shelter cage and she just looked up at us. She was so calm, never barked, not fazed by all the barking around her.”

If it’s not obvious by now, the Alicea family fell in love with Suzi and adopted her! It turns out that their family dog growing up was also named Suzi and had similar coloring…so it was destined to be!
