Video Shows The Terrifying Moment A Little Boy’s Seat Belt Came Undone On A Rollercoaster

A video uploaded to Facebook showing a Texas boy’s rollercoaster seatbelt malfunction seems as though it could’ve been ripped straight from a scene in the ‘Final Destination’ franchise.

Six-year-old Kaysen Latham and his father, Delbert, were enjoying a day at Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo, Texas — that is, until they boarded the Mousetrap roller coaster.

Just seconds after the coaster took off, Kaysen’s seat belt suddenly released, causing him to jerk forward and fall to the floor of the (thankfully bottomed) car.

His father, who was recording the ride to share with his wife, acted quickly, grabbing his son and holding him in place for the rest of the nightmare ride.

“You’re fine. I promise. I gotcha,” Latham continued to reassure his terrified son throughout the duration of the ride.

“Scary moment for the Latham family tonight at #Wonderland,” the post began. “Our seatbelt came apart on the mousetrap and Kaysen slid to the bottom of the floor board and I had to grab him and pull him back up and hold him for the rest of the ride.”

The concerned father went on to express dissatisfaction with the way the incident was handled immediately thereafter.

“What makes it worse is when I told the guy at the end of the ride he stated that he knew that had happened sometimes!! Really it’s already happens and you continue to let people ride??!! And after this they continued to let people ride they just didn’t let anyone in the back seat!”

Although Latham says that eventually a seemingly more concerned representative from the park reached out to him, they’ve still lost his family’s business for good.

“They did respond to me and told me they send their deepest condolences and that safety is their number one issue,” Latham told KVII-TV. “They offered me a couple of WOW passes if I wanted to come back, but we won’t be going back.”
