The attraction will be centered around The Upside Down where the Mind Flayer lives with all of his Demogorgon friends.

The Upside Down attraction is going to be part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. In previous years this annual event has seen attractions inspired by The Walking Dead and American Horror Story and now Stranger Things is getting the treatment.

This maze-like attraction will be Universal Studios’ Hollywood, Orlando, and Singapore locations and here is what we currently know about the park according to a press release:

“Fans of the series will get the chance to brave The Upside Down and confront the supernatural as each park debuts all-new mazes inspired by season one of the critically-acclaimed series.”

“The parallel universe, referred to as The Upside Down that terrorised the small town of Hawkins, Indiana in Netflix’s mega-hit Stranger Things, will bring the chittering, predatory Demogorgon to Halloween Horror Nights to stalk unwitting guests as they encounter iconic scenes, characters and environments from the mesmerising series.”

They went onto say:

“The mazes at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Singapore will be authentic representations of Stranger Things, designed to transport guests into artfully recreated scenes and storylines.”

“From the menacing Hawkins National Laboratory, under the U.S. Department of Energy, to the Byers home adorned with an erratic display of flashing Christmas lights and the eerie Upside Down woods oozing a shower of floating orb-like spores, the chilling new mazes will offer surprising twists and unexpected turns around every corner.

Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 25 years, guests from around the world have visited Halloween Horror Nights to become victims inside their own horror film.”

Well from the sounds of that, it looks like we all need to make a trek to one of those locations and experience it ourselves!

For the Hollywood and Orlando locations, it opens September 14th. While speculations currently look like we won’t get an actual season three of Stranger Things till 2019, this will be enough for some to hold them over.

Need more Stranger Things in your life?

Well it seems this season is going to be set in the summer, so expect some fireworks if you know what I’m talking about. Shawn Levy had this to say about it:

“The first two seasons were very much school-based. This is that time of year where it’s not about school, it’s about the swimming pool and campfires and parades and Fourth of July and fireworks, so there’s kind of a poppy fun to season 3 that’s really enjoyable before things inevitably turn super dark.”

If I had to bet on when season three was coming, I’d bet Mid-May 2019, their seasons always correlate to what time it is in real life. Either way, I can’t wait for more of The Upside Down whether it be in the show or at Universal.
