Are we feeling better now?

Iconic locations that are considered the most recognized backdrops from Game of Thrones will be available to tour i.e. Winterfell, Castle Black and King’s Landing. HBO is planning to open up said sets to the public at some point in 2019 — which leads most to believe that point will be after Game of Thrones finishes its eighth and final season. The final season is said to air in the summer of 2019. Each of the filming locations is set in Northern Ireland, so you may want to start looking at tickets soon!
Every set will be filled with recognizable props, costumes and set pieces from the show and that is not all. HBO is additionally planning to install interactive digital materials that will reveal just how the show was able to pull off so many amazing virtual effects. And while Game of Thrones has shared live exhibitions prior, HBO is promising this exhibition will be the biggest and most involved Game of Thrones experience, ever.

But before you go running to check flights online, HBO says they will not be opening up filming locations to the public until the final season – season eight – airs in 2019. And though the cast of Game of Thrones finished filming the show’s final season months ago, there is still much work to be done by the production team to prepare the space for the public.
It is unknown when exactly HBO will be premiering the final season of Game of Thrones but thanks to the network president sharing that the new season will begin airing in “early 2019” — we have a pretty good idea that it will air either in January, at some point in June or somewhere in between.

BUT according to the show’s visual effects supervisor, he shared that his team would be working on the season until May of 2019 and that the season will most likely not qualify for the 2019 Emmys due to deadlines.
…so with all that information, we are led to believe the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere date will be either May 19, 2019, or May 26, 2019, but until the official date is announced, we can only daydream about all the set pieces we will see next year.
Until then, I suggest re-watching each episode of each season so that when you go to visit Ireland — you will appreciate every prop, costume, and landscape even more than you currently do.
Hey, you have the time!
