Even though hiccups come and go, they’re always pretty annoying. But sometimes they’re painful, embarrassing and downright persistent. They’re definitely not fun, but they’re definitely not the end of the world. Though loud and harmless, you spend your time researching bizarre ways to get rid of it.
Except, however, closer research has revealed the dangerous side of hiccups. Though rare, hiccups may be symptomatic of a stroke. Other symptoms include your entire body going numb, blurred vision and chest pain. But often, these warnings are overlooked because of the ‘severity’ of the hiccups.
So, the takeaway is to be cognizant of the rest of your body. Are the hiccups from eating too fast, or are they something more serious?
