Trump filed for re-election right after taking oath of office in 2017 – despite 1,000 days being left, plus midterm elections – and with his constant tweeting and rallies, I think we all can agree the man is a genius to start campaigning as early as he did.
And as re-election is up for 2020, his first ad dropped and it’s funny — despite it’s very serious intentions.
The ad aired on CNN recently, featuring Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager, addressing the camera. Parscale insists how Trump has “achieved more during his time in office than any president in history.”
Parscale then begs Trump’s most devoted to call a 1-800 number to “deliver a personal thank you to your president.
And according to Huffington Post, calling the number ends with not one, but two fundraising pitches.
And as you can imagine, the ad was butchered on Twitter with folks saying:
“President Trump has achieved more in his time in office than any president in history.” Lincoln freed the slaves. FDR led us to victory in World War II. Trump … cut corporate taxes and imposed tariffs?”
“This Brad Parscale TV ad demanding folks call a number to tell Donald Trump thank you is beyond laughable. He actually says that Donald Trump has “achieved more during his time in office than any president in history.” Do they drug test at campaign headquarters? Geez.”

“This Trump TV ad is what it would look like if a televangelist sold used cars. Make no mistake: The Trump campaign knows its audience.”
“The commercials in the first ROBOCOP were more realistic.”
“Who is the last campaign manager to appear in an ad for their candidate at the national level? Has it ever happened?”
“Parscale has been doing more TV and is now front and center in this ad. When he was first named campaign manager, some close to Trump had told me he needed to get on TV more if he wanted to keep Trump happy/stay in the job through the election cycle.”

“I “thanked” him for the stock market plunge in one call and questioned why 15,000 children are interred on our southern border. Parscale gets on to talk about “massive tax cuts” and a “booming economy” but he sure as hell ain’t talkin’ about the current state of affairs.”
“You can bet I jumped on this bandwagon and left him a different sort of message…800-684-3043…Do your thing, Twitter people!”
“How to capture the phone numbers of some of the dumbest voters in the US.”
“If this is what Parscale considers a good political ad, I feel better about 2020.”

Parscale was a part of the president’s 2016 campaign – launching the nonprofit America First Policies – an organization that helps promote the president’s causes and agenda.
“Brad is an amazing talent and was pivotal to our success in 2016. He has our family’s complete trust and is the perfect person to be at the helm of the campaign,” Eric Trump, shared in a statement.
“Brad was essential in bringing a disciplined technology and data-driven approach to how the 2016 campaign was run,” Jared Kushner said in a statement. “His leadership and expertise will help build a best-in-class campaign.”
….All I can say after watching that video is don’t thank him just yet.
