The Russian Orthodox Church leader has issued its followers a warning that smartphones will “result in the coming of the Antichrist.”
Patriarch Kirill, 72, shared with Russian state media how the Antichrist will control the ‘entire human race’ via gadgets, smartphones and the Internet.

Yet despite these bold claims, Kirill says he does not “entirely oppose” smartphones. Rather, he warns against “falling into slavery’ of them.”
January 7th marked Christmas for Orthodox Christians and Kirill made the comments during the holiday.
“Control from a single point is a harbinger of the coming of the Antichrist,” he shared with the state run Rossiya-1 TV network.
He also added how the Antichrist will be a personality that will be at the head of the world wide web and controlling the whole of the human race.
But this is not the first prophecy Kirill has made.
Kirill’s real name is Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev, and he has made a few other predictions regarding the evil coming into the world.
Back in the first month of 2016, he suggested how ISIS was a result of the world accepting homosexuality.
Additionally, he claimed how Muslims potentially were fleeing to join the group in both Syria and Iraq to avoid being apart of a civilization that holds events like Gay Pride.
Kirill has been quoted saying in regards to gay marriage how the “trend of legalizing “gay marriage” is “a very dangerous sign of the apocalypse.” It “means people are choosing a path of self-destruction,” he said.
He has also been noted saying:
“Lately, we have enormous temptations, when a number of countries opting for sin is approved and justified by the law, and those who, acting in good conscience, are struggling with such laws imposed by a minority, being repressed.”
In the same year, he made the comparison of silencing priests that speak against same-sex marriage to censorship in Nazi Germany.
In recent events in Ukraine, there has been an unprecedented interference in the Church affairs.
The ROC Primate commented on this in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine, violated the constitution in his own state when he decided to interfere in religious matters as well as attempted to manage Churches, the religious process, the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate cities, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all of Russia.
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church brought to the public’s attention how Poroshenko had encroached on the rights of believers.
“The idea of a secular state occupies a very important place in European civilization. There are no religious states in Europe. There are only secular states, where nothing of the kind Poroshenko is doing today is unacceptable by law,” said Patriarch Kirill.
Kirill also noted how the unconstitutional behavior of the Ukrainian President is unacceptable and no one will be able to predict what could happen to both Ukraine and the Ukrainian people as a result.
Ukrainian experts say that Ukrainian authorities are attempting to create a model of political Orthodoxy.
