As they say, the heart wants what the heart wants….even if the heart wants your best friend’s mom.
And for one 18-year-old, this sentiment was exactly true.
Chase Gabbard has been friends with Jaice Brown for seven years and throughout this friendship — Chase met Jaice’s mom, 39-year-old Jaimee Brown.

Chase became attracted to Jaimee after he turned 18 and the two kissed.
The rest they say, is history.
The two reside in Corbin, Kentucky.
“I had no idea about Chase or my feelings before he kissed me, it was a total shock but since then we have been inseparable.” Jaimee shared.
“I have three kids, so the first thing was that I had to be sure they were OK with it, as they are my number one priority.”
“But none of them had a problem, we all loved each other anyway and when we told Jaice he was fine with it too – they are still best friends.”

“I don’t think you can put a time limit on love – if you know, you know.”
“I have to wait for my divorce to come through, but we have already planned our beautiful wedding and written our own vows.”
And as for Jaice — he says he is happy with his stepdad/best friend, saying:
“We are still best friends, because we still hang out, have fun and play video games together. Just like we did before.”

“They were happy so that’s all that mattered. They are a cute couple.”
“Thankfully it hasn’t affected Jaime and I as best friends really, I don’t think we could stop being friends, we are just so close.” Chase continued to share.
“I have embraced being stepdad, nothing has really changed though as they are great and good-minded kids, so I don’t have to get onto them too much.”
“I’m at the point where I don’t care what anyone else says or thinks, as long as we are happy that’s all that matters.”

Couples with a a one-year age difference have only a three percent chance of getting divorced, according to a 2014 study from Emory University.
A 10-year difference equates to a 39 percent chance of divorce while a 20-year age gap has a whopping 95 percent chance of ending in divorce.
Researchers analyzed over 3,000 couples for the study and discovered that the bigger the age gap between a couple — the more likely they are to get divorced.

One of the researchers behind the study, Hugo Mialon, addressed the fact that while this data reveals a correlation — it does not necessarily imply
a definite cause and effect.
“It could just be that the types of couples with those characteristics are the types of couples who are, on average, more likely to divorce for other reasons,” he said, according to The Independent.
So what is a “healthy” age gap?

Multiple studies conclude that a one-year age difference is ideal and that a bigger age gap can pose an obstacles for some couples.
But remember, age is not always an indicator of relationship success or failure as there are many other factors that contribute.
