Dustin Lance Black is opening up about his marriage to Olympic diver Tom Daley.

Lance Black, an Oscar-winning screenwriter, opened up about the ups and downs of their relationship in a revealing new interview with Gay Times Magazine this week, Pink News reports.

“I mean, we’re certainly not two perfect people. We have fights,” he explained. “Although when we fight, we just get very, very quiet. And then we know we’re in trouble, one or the other!”

Part of what allows for those fights to occur is the fact that they’re both still incredibly busy and operate on their own separate schedules, which oftentimes forces them to spend long amounts of time apart.

“We have really tough times and struggles,” he went on. “For example we went long distance for a very, very, long time: he was in LA, I was living in London. We would spend sometimes five weeks apart.”

That being said, Lance Black explained that he’s still learning new things about his husband, who revealed he was attracted to men (but didn’t label himself “gay”) in a widely-viewed YouTube video back in December of 2013.

“We’ve been together now almost five years and I’m still discovering new things about him,” Lance Black said. “There’s a constant renewal to our relationship and I’ve never experienced anything like it. It’s really exciting.”

One of the things that Lance Black discovered? His husband is still attracted to women.

“I don’t know if I’ll be in trouble for this; his head still turns for girls,” he revealed

Dustin Lance Black and Tom Daley got married in May of 2017. Lance Black won an Oscar for writing the screenplay for “Milk,” while Daley is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist who has competed in the last three Summer Olympics.
