Boston is having a straight pride parade run by three white men

One major American city has allegedly agreed to permit a Straight Pride parade to take place in Boston in August

“It looks like the Boston Straight Pride Parade will happen. We filed a discrimination complaint and it appears the City of Boston understands they would lose in litigation,” Ryan Sahady shared in a Facebook post. “The city is now working with us on the parade. We will have the streets closed and be allowed to have floats and vehicles.”

But did Boston actually give organizers permission to have the event?

The event’s Facebook announcement, written by organizer Ryan Sahady, contains a map of the proposed march route and claims that the city is closely working with organizers to shut down streets to make room for “floats” and “vehicles” on the tentative date of August 31.

Per a Boston official, while the group has been in contact with the city, the organizers have yet to receive a permit to hold the rally.

The parade is slated to be organized by Super Happy Fun America — which is run by three men.

The president being John Hugo, the vice-president, Sahady, and “gay ambassador” Chris Bartley.

The straights-rights group has also elevated actor Brad Pitt as their mascot as they see him as “the face of this important civil rights movement.”

“We are sick and tired of being treated like second-class citizens,” Hugo shared with the Boston Herald of heterosexuals. The group additionally requests that its supporters call the mayor to “demand an end to discrimination against straights” because, they also “deserve a parade.”

Prior to the LGBTQ’s Pride parade in Boston, Mayor Marty Walsh issued a statement to the Cut in support of Boston’s LGBTQ community.

“Every year Boston hosts our annual Pride Week, where our city comes together to celebrate the diversity, strength and acceptance of our LGBTQ community,” Walsh said. “This is a special week that represents Boston’s values of love and inclusion, which are unwavering. I encourage everyone to join us in celebration … in the fight for progress and equality for all.”

In addition, Sahady has also organized “free speech” rallies and a gun rights demonstration with the group Resist Marxism. According to the website, the group’s main priority is to “defend the Constitution against violent extremists and the regressive left.”

One of the Straight Pride Parade’s organizers, John Hugo, shared with the Washington Post that the keynote speaker would be “a very famous gay conservative,” whom he did not name.

As the the LGBT acronym grew to include queer as well as intersex and asexual people, Hugo and his two other organizers want to add an “S” for straight.

“We want tolerance, and we want tolerance for everybody — not just the LGBTQ community,” Hugo said.

While the third organizer of the parade describes himself as a “gay ambassador” who challenges “heterophobia.”

Heterophobia can be defined as an “irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against heterosexual people,” per Merriam Webster.
