Woman leaves $5,000 tip on boyfriend’s credit card after they got into it

A 24-year-old woman was arrested and charged with leaving a $5,000 tip on her boyfriend’s credit card after getting into a fight at a restaurant.

Serina Wolfe along with her (then) boyfriend ate at the Clear Sky Café in Clearwater Beach, west of Tampa, Florida.

While eating, they got into a “verbal argument” about her wanting him to purchase her a plane ticket home to upstate New York, according to a complaint from Pinellas County deputies.

After refusing to do so, he placed a temporary hold on his credit card.

Wolfe allegedly used the card to leave a $5,000 tip for their server after he lifting the hold.

The bill was only $55.37.



When the boyfriend later confronted her regarding the charge, Wolfe denied leaving the massive tap, according to the complaint.

He then reported the transaction as fraudulent to his credit card company.

But when the restaurant was informed of the transaction on Monday, it was too late as the server had been paid the $5,000 tip.

When Wolfe was arrested on Monday — she admitted allegedly to using the card to pay the very expensive tab.

“[The boyfriend] believes the defendant was drunk or trying to get back at him,” the arrest report read.

According to court records, she was charged with third-degree grand theft, a felony, and held on a $1,000 bond.
