As an animal lover – when you plan a vacation – being by or around the furbabies you love is ESSENTIAL.
But what if I told you there were giant hotels shaped like animals you could stay in?
You can! And all over the world too!
Our first hotel for you to stay in is set in California’s St. Barbara.

The Whale House
In the Mission Canyon area of Santa Barbara, this amazing home will make you feel like you have just been swallowed by a whale. But instead of intestines, there are four floors and three bedrooms if you dare enter the whale’s mouth. And at the whale’s tail you will find an indoor/outdoor swimming pool. While it is a bit pricey, many say it is worth stomaching the cost.

Les Guetteurs
In Bordeaux, France, a group of artists created a series of pieces that also doubles as little cabins and cottages you can stay in. One of the precious cabins is created to look like three wise owls. The cabin boasts three double beds, one nestled in the head of each owl, and through the “eyes” of each owl, you can look up at the sky and stars as you rest. The cabin’s name is translates into English as “The Watchers,” and is available March through November.

Quetzalcoatl’s Nest
If you are afraid of snakes, staying inside one in Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico, may just do the trick. Named after the serpent god Quetzalcoatl, the complex consists of 10 different condos while featuring stained glass and brilliant colors. The unit is available to rent and has five bedrooms — oh, and did we mention it is built in the belly of a the snake? The entirety of it all rests on 40 acres and has lots of gardens to explore.

Crocodile Hotel
In Kakadu, Australia, the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel is a four-star hotel built in the shape of one of the area’s most common animals: the saltwater crocodile. The halls of the hotel create a distinct shape that is amazing to view, especially from the air, and in the middle of it all is a pool.
