Victoria Secret announces very first transgender model Valentina Sampaio

Valentina Sampaio has just announced how she is working with Victoria’s Secret as its first transgender model.

The Brazilian star has been featured in campaigns by L’Oréal and in Vogue editorials recently posted when behind the scenes at Victoria’s Secret.

“Backstage click @vspink,” she posted.

Victoria’s Secret has yet to make an announcement about Sampaio but her manager shared with Entertainment Tonight how she is “very happy” and hopes to “break barriers and to make a step to more inclusivity and representation for everybody.”



Sampaio, 22, later posted additional updates over the weekend with one being a selfie video.

The announcement comes after Ed Razek, chief marketing officer for the company, made comments about having trans models into the fold.

Sampaio was born in Northern Brazil began to work as a model in her teens.

She has noted in the past her parents were “always supportive and are very proud” of her, especially in regards to her transition.
