Bella Sellers is an 11-year-old who’s best friend is a bearded dragon lizard named Jango — together, they live in Florida.
Bella and Jango are absolutely inseparable according to her parents.

“He sleeps with her nightly,” Bella’s mom, Tiffany Kennedy, shared. “He goes everywhere we go. He loves to be around people.”
But recently, his routine shifted — Bella’s stepdad is retired so usually he is able to stay at home with Jango while Bella is at school but the other day, he had a doctor’s appointment which meant he would be by himself for a bit.

When Bella found out about the change of plans, she devised a plan. Without anyone noticing, Bella packed her backpack with a pillow, blanket and some food and then put Jango inside so he would not have be sad at home by himself.
The duo was able to be together for most of the day until fifth period when a teacher of Bella’s noticed the lil guy.

Bella’s mom then received a phone call from the school’s assistant principal about the pet.
“He said, ‘Ma’am, did you know she snuck her bearded dragon in her bag?'” Kennedy recalled. “I freaked out and of course said, ‘No, oh goodness. Is he OK?’ and just apologized. They laughed and asked if we could please come get him.”
Bella was a bit disappointed that her plan failed when her stepdad came to pick her and Jango up but ultimately, everyone luckily found it humorous.

“All we could do was laugh,” Kennedy said.
Later that night, Bella and Jango snuggled up together to sleep like always.
And while the school did reiterate its “no sneaky pets” policy, the story of Bella’s little stunt on her lizard’s behalf could make anyone crack a smile.
“It’s bringing smiles to people’s faces,” Kennedy said. “My daughter loves animals.”
