After taking the time to help a young boy who needed help with his homework, a 911 dispatcher is being praised for her patience and generosity.

Antonia Bundy works for the Lafayette Police Department in Indiana and stayed on the phone with a boy who rung 911 to say he “had a really bad day” and had “tons of homework.”

The little boy – whose identify is yet to be discovered – shared with Bundy how he had math homework he was struggling with.

Posted by the Lafayette Police Department, an audio recording reveals Bundy calmly working with the boy while he adds fractions.

And once they finish the problem, the boy tells her that it was the only one he was stuck on.

“I’m sorry for calling you, but I really needed help,” he said.

“When a young child calls to ask for homework help, Antonia didn’t miss a beat,” the Lafayette Police Department shared in a Twitter post.

“We get a lot of unusual call requests, but this one kind of stood out,” said Lafayette Police Sgt. Matt Gard.

And while the Lafayette Police Department does not encourage folks to ring 911 for homework assistance — Twitter was impressed with Bundy and her giving heart.

“This makes my heart smile!!! Thank you Antonia, you are a true hero!!!”

“This is wonderful. I know the dispatcher was aware of other emergencies and would not have been able to take the time if there were things more pressing. I’m glad she did. You can save a life by giving pre-arrival CPR instructions, but you can also save one this way.
