Pizza shop causes outrage among locals for poking fun at human trafficking

The owner of a pizza shop in Barberton, Ohio, is making waves for a billboard that some believed to be poking fun at human trafficking.

While the subject is no laughing matter, Jeremy Clemetson, owner of East of Chicago Pizza store, is known around the area for his tongue in cheek signs.

“We’ve had ‘Legalize marinara,’ and ‘Our pizza is deep as potholes,’ ‘Free box with every pizza,'” he revealed to CNN.

But the most recent billboard, which read: “fat people are harder to kidnap,” caused discord among locals.

Cheeky messages etched on exactly 53 cakes make a bold statement to Republican Senators

A bakery delivered 53 cakes for each Republican senator yesterday with a pretty clear cut message, and let’s just say it was not sugar coated.

The idea began with a GoFundMe organized by a Colin Bishopp, with the goal of sending out all 53 Republican senators a sweet gift.

“Republicans in the US Senate refuse to allow witnesses in President Trump’s impeachment trial, so let’s deliver them John Bolton’s testimony on a cake. Maybe that will make the truth easier for them to swallow,” the GoFundMe states.

And in just two days, the fundraiser raised $6,724 of its $7,000 goal, just enough to team up the New York-based bakery, with Butter & Scotch, to get the cakes baked and decorated.

The first few cakes were posted, with some of the messages reading:

“You’re in the room where it happens. Let Bolton testify.”

“Hope this makes the truth easier to swallow. Let Bolton testify.”

“This trial is half-baked without witnesses. Let Bolton testify.”

“Don’t go baking my heart. Let Bolton testify.”

Experts reveals how eating too many vegetables too quickly could hurt your health

If you haven’t heard of “Veganuary” it is a growing trend where one strictly adheres to the vegan diet for an entire month which means zero meat or dairy.

And while that all sounds well and good for the new year— your body may not respond so well to such a quick transition in regards to solely vegetables if that’s not your norm.

According to consultant dietitian Ro Huntriss – if one gradually steps up to a vegan diet it can be less dangerous and more beneficial as opposed to just taking the plunge into all-veggie-eating-all-the-time.

Ro shared with LADbible the following:

“If you plan to switch to a vegan diet, there are nutritional considerations to think about before you switch, as otherwise your health could be compromised.”

“For example, some people are quick to cut meat and fish out of their diet, but they do not replace the protein. We need protein for muscle growth and repair, so to maintain your strength it is important this is replaced.

“Protein is an obvious one, but other nutrients such as iron, vitamin B12, omega-3, iodine and selenium are examples of nutrients that could be deficient in a vegan diet without proper planning, which could compromise your health.”

Man falls into a coma and dies four years after his colleague poisons his sandwich

A young 23-year-old began to feel very ill in the summer of 2016 after wrapping up a shift at a German metal-fitting company and took himself to the hospital when he could not stop vomiting and barely could stand up.

Then, at age 26, he fell into a coma and suffered severe brain damage but the cause was identified much later as mercury poisoning.

Doctors then realized that the man had been ingesting lead acetate and mercury for years but no one was sure how he could come in contact with the toxin. That is, until two other co-workers fell ill in the exact same way.

The case came together in 2018 after one colleague at the company, ARI Armaturen, noticed a white powder on the bread during his lunch break.

Later, video surveillance were installed at the workplace which captured the suspect, Klaus O, 57, placing the substance on his colleagues’ sandwiches.

Klaus had been working at the factory for 38 years and was convicted of attempted murder as well as bodily injury in march in three cases after two other colleagues suffered kidney damage.

He has been sentenced to life in prison.

And you thought pineapple-ham pizza was bad: take a bite of this

One Danish restaurant is taking things way too far if you ask me and creating…..ahem….Kiwi pizza.

No, no — it’s not a dessert pizza, it’s your average pizza with sauce, mozzarella, maybe some ham and oh yea — FREAKIN’ KIWI.

Posted by Reddit user re1313, while the ham-pineapple debate is still happening, I think we can all put aside our differences and unite when we look at this photo because this, THIS —- this is truly an abomination.

A few foods that fight the flu naturally that are not a grapefruit or an orange

A quick stop at the doctor’s office with cold or flu symptoms may get you a prescription but caregivers also believe in certain foods you may not be aware help support a healthy immune system.

While oranges and grapefruits are the stars of the Vitamin C Show, there are plenty of other choices when it comes to nourishing your body.

Just one cup of strawberries or raw broccoli can give you almost 100% of your daily Vitamin C intake while a medium-sized red bell pepper contains almost double the daily value.

“I’m a medical doctor and I prescribe medicine, but I always like to take the natural approach whenever possible, and food is medicine,” shared Dr. Gena Lewis of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

In addition to the aforementioned pieces of fruit and veggies, garlic as well as olive oil contain anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties which help fight off infection.

Bone broths also contain a more concentrated dose of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which strengthen your immune system — prepping your body to beat whatever sickness comes your way.

Kindergartner sells cocoa and cookies she made herself to help pay of students’ lunch debts

When Katelynn Hardee, who is a ripe 5-years-old, found out that some families struggled to pay of their children’s lunch balances at school, she wanted to do what she could.

The little girl first recognized the issue when she overheard another student’s mom mention she was having trouble paying for something.

“She’s very inquisitive,” Karina Hardee, Katelynn’s mother, shared with FOX 5.

“So she started asking me a bunch of questions and I tried to answer as best as I could without too much for a 5-year-old, and just explained to her that some people aren’t as fortunate as us.”

Katelynn then decided how she could fill a need:

“I can give money to the lunch people so they’ll have money,” she said.

And after hosting lemonade stands in the summer, she felt she could organize another stand but with hot cocoa and cookies instead.

She baked the cookies and made the cocoa herself, setting up shop for three whole hours.

On Monday, Katelynn’s mom turned to the school to see if and how she could donate the money.

“I just left a note saying my daughter held a hot cocoa fundraiser over the weekend and would love to donate the money to any of the negative accounts,” Karina Hardee said.

The money raised ended up paying off the lunch balances for 123 students.

“So they can lunch and snack,” Katelynn shared.

Later, Katelyn’s generosity was celebrated with an award presented to her at school.
