It Looks Like According To Science Tall Men And Short Women Make The Best Couples

We always hear about these “science studies” that claim outrageous facts that are kinda scientific. Whether it’s vaping is good for you, or bad for you depending on what study you read, or that a marshmallow only diet is good for you. Okay I made that one up but you would click on it if “science” backed it up.

And now even though Bill Nye isn’t telling us about this study, I’m still into it. We’ve always seen those couples in public and had to ask questions like, “Does she need a booster seat to reach him?”

Well it seems that science has come into our lives again to say that those tall man/short woman couples are the happiest. According to a study done by Konkuk University in South Korea “a greater height difference in a couple was positively related to the wife’s happiness.”

They also noted that “the female preference for male height increased women’s reproductive fitness.” Well that makes sense, they have to work harder with a larger dude in bed.

Science Direct published this scholarly article, and its findings were pretty interesting.

They also found that “the relationship gradually weakened over time and entirely dissipated by 18 years of marital duration.” That’s the one part I have a hard time with, due to one fact. They only surveyed a little under 8,000 people. Normally that would be a great survey size, but they only surveyed Indonesian people.

There maybe some cultural differences that may have caused that divide.

Doctor Kitae Sohn, who was head of the study, said this about it all:

“This is similar to people favouring fatty, salty, and sugary foods without knowing exactly why: such foods are essential to survival but were scarce as humans evolved – hence craving such foods increased reproductive fitness in the past.”

Sohn noted that the wife “might get used to her husband’s height and it correlates such as physical attractiveness and strength” which supports his survey findings.

The site Goodfulness concluded that:

“It’s not difficult to also conclude when examining the subject of height, how the study also discovered lankier men are considered more attractive than shorter guys.

Supposedly, taller men experience greater life satisfaction. With this sense of self-esteem and confidence, it might make it appear that larger men are more appealing.

We can blame this on evolution. Women are drawn to bigger, taller men because they were thought to be better hunter-gatherers during prehistoric times.”

Guys don’t get discouraged if you are vertically challenged though! People like Seth Green and Keith Urban are proof that it’s really all about the person. Sure if you’re tall that’s cool, but women are still looking for the classic qualities like being funny and this thing called respect.

So even though science is giving us proof that tall guys win, let’s just say that maybe if you are nice, gentlemanly and an overall good person that might lead to happiness too.
