August 20th, 1989 is a night stamped with a gruesome history.
In one of the most famous Hollywood murders of all time, Erik and Lyle Menendez entered their home and murdered their parents, Jose and Mary Louis “Kitty” Menendez with a shotgun.
The story and subsequent trials, involving gruesome abuse allegations and an inconclusive jury, all centered around the living room and kitchen in 722 North Elm Drive.
The house is so pristine on the outside that you would never know what horrific happenings occurred behind the property’s flawless fence.
Located in Beverly Hills, California, the home was a rental that the Menendez family was living in while renovations were being done on the home that they owned on Mulholland Drive in Calabasas, California.
The two-story, Mediterranean style home sits on half an acre of land with just over 9,000 square feet of living space.
The house was originally built in 1927 and redesigned in 1984 by businessman Mark Slotkin.
The property boasts a pool and private tennis court, alongside a two-story guesthouse and two-car garage.
The home had a troubling time reselling after the murders — Understandably so.
